Listen Up to The Mike McClure Band! McClure was a founding member of The Great Divide. In 1995 they brought their own special brand of 'Red Dirt' to a national audience when they inked a deal with Atlantic Records. After a long and successful career with the band, McClure set out to do his own thing and formed the Mike McClure Band in 2004 with band mates Tom Skinner and Eric Hansen. McClure's massive library of original songs is a thing of legend, and many of his gems have been commandeered over the years by a slew of other artists, from Garth Brooks to Cody Canada. As a songwriter and producer, McClure has collaborated with many other stellar artists including Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Scott Copeland, Johnny Cooper, Whiskey Meyers, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lloyd Maines, the Turnpike Troubadours and The Damn Quails. Not one to sit back on his laurels, Mike has now added a new hat to his collection - Record Label Head. The Mike McClure Band's brand new album 50 Billion will be released on 598 Recordings, McClure's upstart indie label formed this year with partner Chance Sparkman. 50 Billion offers an original and genuine sound that is McClure's calling card and validates his reputation as the consummate music man whose boundless talent operates like a machine. One listen to 50 Billion or any of McClure's previous releases makes apparent that he could have never done anything else.
